Coconut, Coconut and Papaya - a trip to Maui 1

OMG - this piece of earth is just perfect. It is so perfect that you wake up in the morning with tears of joy in your eyes, because you cannot believe it is really true. I think there is a piece of perfect for everyone on this island, we sure found ours.
Day1+2: We started in Kahului and took the road to Hana. We had plans on what to see, but quickly realized that there is no way to do it like this. This island has it's own time and not finding the entrance to the trail leading to the waterfall so nicely described in your travel guide might not be a bad thing. So we started off with a dip in the very salty but perfectly blue and warm ocean near Paia. The color is unbelievable. This dip slowed us down and we made our way to Waianapanapa State Park . Enjoying the views along the road, banana pineapple bread and coconut ice-cream and a visit in Garden Eden.
For our trip we decided to camp around the island and it turned out to be again a perfect thing for us. From the campground in Waianapanapa we had access to a nice black pebble beach, where a turtle swam below K. And even better we saw the most amazing sunrise here. K learned how to make beads from sticks, we shared a morning coffee with famous strangers ;). All of this made for a perfect transition into Maui time and mood.
After the morning coffee we went off to a hike along the shore. I could write that the views were wonderful, but this would be an understatement. I loved every bit of it. The paradise just for us. In the afternoon we visited a huge lava tube and had dinner at the Hana farms fruit stand - very delicious and if you are around stop here, have some coffee, banana bread and if you are lucky and you are there around dinner time try their wonderful out of this world pizza and salad creations.
