Gasoline Shortages and Long Lines Likely Into Next Week; Be Prepared
One continuing impact of Hurricane Sandy on Long Island is that many local gas stations are not receiving their regular fuel deliveries. Over the next several days, employees can expect to see long lines at the gas stations that have fuel and closing of those without. The on-site service station is among those currently out of gas.
The Lab's Office of Emergency Management recommends that employees keep their fuel tank filled and car pool/ride share wherever possible to conserve gas. This situation may take days to resolve and being prepared now will help.
